How to Make a Camp Shack in Minecraft for the Xbox

A shack can be built quickly using minimal resources and can provide a safe haven from the dangers of the Minecraft world. In the game's "Survival" mode, you will need to acquire the materials yourself by cutting down trees. You can craft the resulting wood into wooden planks to build the frame of your shack. Wooden planks are also used when building doors. Doors can be opened or closed manually by pressing the left trigger on your controller.

Instructions

  Cut down some trees by holding the right trigger on your controller. Pick up the wood blocks that are created by walking over them. Press the "Y" button to open your inventory and then place the collected wood in the "Crafting" slots using the "A" button. Click on the wooden planks icon that appears next to the "Crafting" slots and place the planks into your inventory.

  Dig a 4x4 hole in the ground by pressing the right trigger on your controller. Select the wooden planks from your inventory and press the left trigger to place them into the empty space.

  Place a row of wooden blocks at ground level, skirting around the outside of the floorboards you just created. Leave the inside of the square hollow.

  Add another row of wooden planks on top of the blocks you just placed. Continue to stack the blocks until you have three rows of wooden planks in place.

  Connect the top layer of blocks together by using the left trigger on your controller to place more wood planks. Leave the bottom two rows of your shack hollow.

  Open your inventory and place four wooden planks inside the "Crafting" slots. Click on the crafting table icon to add it to your inventory. Press the left trigger on your controller to place the crafting table on the ground. Press the left trigger again to use the crafting table. Place six wooden planks on the left and center columns of the "Crafting" slots and then click on the door icon that appears to add it to your inventory.

  Destroy two vertically-connected blocks on the outer wall of your shack by facing the blocks and pressing the right trigger on your controller. Press the left trigger to place the door in the space you have just created. Press the left trigger to open and close the door.
