How to Make an Undetectable JTAG

Creating an undetectable JTAG on a gaming console, such as Xbox 360, requires modification to the root code of the console. However, other methods of creating a JTAG require an easily detectable physical patch between the Xbox̵7;s motherboard and a PC. Several programs, such as NAND Flasher Xbox 360 v1.2.0 and 360 Flash Tool, allow you to flash your Xbox with non-Microsoft firmware and rewrite the NAND flash chip to run noncompatible software.

  Navigate to the Digiex website and download .XeX 0.12. Select a destination, follow the installation prompts of the installation wizard and click ̶0;Finish.̶1;

  Save .XeX 0.12 to your flash drive. Return to the Digiex website and download NAND Flasher 360 v1.2.0 to your computer.

  Navigate to the flash drive̵7;s location on your computer and open it to display its contents in a window. Drag NAND Flasher 360 for Xbox 360 v1.2.0 and drop it in an empty space in the flash drive̵7;s content window. This places NAND Flasher 360 v1.2.0 in the flash drive̵7;s root folder.

  Navigate on your computer to the Files Tube website and download ̶0;360 Flash Tool v0.88. Download an unbanned NAND file with CPU key to your computer. You can find an unbanned NAND file with CPU key from several keyvault sellers on many Xbox 360 online forums.

  Remove the flash drive from you computer and insert it in the USB port at the rear of the Xbox. Power up the Xbox.

  Navigate to the ̶0;Game Demos̶1; folder of the Xbox 360 and launch .XeX 0.12 from its location on your flash drive. Launch NAND Flasher 360 v1.2.0 from your flash drive̵7;s root directory.

  Press the onscreen ̶0;X̶1; button on the Xbox 360̵7;s display. This copies the Xbr image to the root folder of your flash drive.

  Remove the flash drive from the Xbox and power down the Xbox. Insert the flash drive in your computer̵7;s USB port. Launch 360 Flash Tool v0.88. Open NAND Flasher 360 v1.2.0 in 360 Flash Tool v0.88.

  Click the ̶0;Keys̶1; tab in the Flash Tool window. Type the unbanned CPU key in the ̶0;CPU̶1; field. Check the boxes beside the ̶0;CPU̶1; and ̶0;1BL̶1; fields. Click ̶0;OK.̶1;

  Click ̶0;Extract̶1; and check the ̶0;Key Vault̶1; box on the ̶0;Extract Files̶1; pop-up window to open the unbanned NAND file. Save the KV_dec.bin file on the desktop. Open the Xbr image you stored in the root directory of the flash drive.

  Click the ̶0;Keys̶1; tab in Flash Tools. Enter the CPU number located at the bottom of your Xbox. Copy the type of OSIG DVD-drive and the DVD-Key for future reference.

  Click ̶0;Import̶1; and check the box beside ̶0;Key Vault.̶1; Click ̶0;OK.̶1; Browse for and open the KV_dec.bin file in Flash Tools. Save the Xbr image as ̶0;Edit.01.bin̶1; and click ̶0;OK.̶1;

  Open the .XeX file you downloaded and save it on the flash drive. Remove the flash drive and insert it in the USB port on the rear of the Xbox. Power up the Xbox.

  Navigate to ̶0;Game Demos̶1; and launch XEXLoader/XEXMenu. Launch ̶0;Flash360.xex" from your Xbox directory. Select the ̶0;A̶1; button from the Xbox display followed by the ̶0;B̶1; button. Select the ̶0;Start̶1; button from the Xbox display followed by the ̶0;A̶1; button. Select the ̶0;Back̶1; button from the Xbox display.
