Basics
The Xbox 360 wireless mike requires two AA or NiMH rechargeable batteries to operate. If the batteries are out of power, the mike will not sync to the Xbox 360. To check the batteries, turn the top of the mike one-quarter turn to the left to open the battery cover and insert new batteries according to the "+" and "-" polarity symbols on the mike. Also check that the batteries are placed in the right position; if you insert them incorrectly, the mike will not work.
Proper Sync Procedure
Correctly syncing the "Lips" mike to the Xbox 360 requires pressing combination of buttons with specific timing. Incorrectly timing the buttons results in a failed sync. To sync correctly, turn on the Xbox 360, and then hold down the "Power" button on the bottom of the mike for three seconds. The lights on the Xbox 360 and mike then flash with a green light. Hold down the mike's "Power" button again until the green light flashes more quickly. Then press the small white "Sync" button on the Xbox 360. When the green lights turn blue, the syncing process is successful.
Microphone Incompatibility
The Xbox 360 allows you to connect up to four mikes at once. Some other games, such as "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero: World Tour" come with USB mikes. These mikes are not compatible with the wireless "Lips" mike. If you connect two "Lips" mikes and a USB mike, the second "Lips" mike may not sync correctly. Unplug the USB mike to fix the problem. If you unplug the mike while playing "Lips," you must restart the console.
Other Possible Problems
The "Lips" game syncs the mike to one Xbox 360 console at a time. If you synced the mike to a different console, you must re-sync it to the original console when you want to use it again. In addition, distance can interfere with syncing. The mike must remain within 10 meters of the console to work. Finally, remove or turn off any sources of electronic interference, including microwaves, cellphones or neon signs. These items may interfere with the mike's wireless signal, preventing proper syncing.
