TVersity Can't Play on Xbox

The TVersity media-sharing program connects to devices such as Blu-ray players and game consoles, allowing you to watch your computer media collection on TV. For TVersity to work properly on the Xbox 360 console, you may need to adjust a few firewall or network connection settings on your computer.
  1. Enable TVersity Media Server

    • Check the media server on your computer to ensure that it is running. You must turn on media sharing to transfer content to the Xbox 360. Right-click the TVersity icon in the bottom right corner of the tray and click "Start Sharing." Alternatively, click "Start," "TVersity Tools" and "Start TVersity Media Server." A message appears, indicating that media sharing is now active.

    Change Firewall Settings

    • If you use a firewall on your computer, it may block incoming connections from the Xbox 360. Disable all other media-sharing programs, such as Windows Media Player or Windows Media Connect. These programs interfere with sharing between TVersity and the Xbox 360. Click "Start," "Computer" and "Local Disc (C:)." Double-click "Program Files," "TVersity" and "Media Server." Allow the media server to accept connections on port 41952.

    Change Binding Order

    • If your computer runs two or more network interfaces, change the binding order so the Xbox 360 communicates with the correct interface. Click "Start," "Network" and "Network Center." Click "Manage network connections," "Organize," "Layout" and "Classic Menus," then click on "Advanced." Click on the arrow buttons to reorder the network interfaces in the Binding menu.

    Other Tips

    • Disable Microsoft Live OneCare, if you're running it. This service sometimes disrupts network connectivity. Your wireless router may cause problems when you try to connect the Xbox 360 to the computer. If you suspect your router is causing the problem, reboot it, as well as the computer, and try to load TVersity again. If the problem persists, turn off the router and use a wired connection to connect the computer to the Xbox 360. Also, allow the Xbox 360 to search for and detect TVersity. Select "Media" on the Xbox 360, then select "Music," "Pictures" or "Video." Select "Computer" and "Yes, continue." The Xbox 360 searches for and lists TVersity as your media server.
