How to Make Canaries in Viva Pinata

In Viva Pinata, creating a canary, called a candary in the game, is a simple matter of feeding the correct flower to the correct pinatas. The change is immediate so there is no waiting for the pinata to evolve and there are no major quest that have to be undertaken for the feeding to work. This is one of the first pinatas that a new player will evolve so the method is straightforward. Having a candary in the garden helps players meet the Buzzenge and Chippopotamus. It also is a requirement for "Romance." The major use, though, is to detect poison gas in the mines.

Things You'll Need

Sparrowmint
Buttercup
Dandelion

Instructions

In Classic and Pocket Paradise

  Pause the game and open Costolot's General Store.

  Purchase a buttercup seed, or, if you have 40 chocolate coins, buy a buttercup flower. If you purchase the flower, skip to Step 5.

  Plant the seed in grass, soil or long grass. There is no need to dig a hole for these seeds.

  Fertilize the seed three times.

  Feed the flower to a Sparrowmint to evolve it into a Candary.
In TiP Standard and Just for Fun

  Pause the game and open Costolot's General Store.

  Purchase a dandelion seed.
- 8
  Plant the seed anywhere, except directly in the water.
- 9
  Feed the dandelion, once it has matured, to a Sparrowmint to evolve it into a Candary.
