Can I Be Logged Into the Same Gamertag Account on Both Xboxes?

Your Xbox 360 Gamertag contains your Xbox 360 gamer profile, achievement points and friends list. If you have two Xbox 360 systems, you may want to use your Gamertag with both devices. Unfortunately, you cannot log into your Gamertag account on two systems simultaneously. If you want to use your Gamertag on two systems, you must do so separately using one of two methods.

Make Your Gamertag Portable
- The first way to use your Gamertag on two systems is to place the Gamertag on a portable flash drive and use the flash drive with both systems. Turn on the Xbox 360 console and insert the flash drive into one of the system's USB ports. Scroll down to the "My Xbox" section of the Xbox 360 dashboard and select the "System Settings" option. Select the "Memory" option, followed by the "All Devices" option. Select the "Gamer Profiles" option, select the Gamertag that you want to move and select the "Move" option. Finally, select the flash drive from the list of memory devices to transfer the Gamertag to the portable device.
Using a Portable Gamertag
- Remove the flash drive from the first Xbox 360 console once the Gamertag has been moved successfully. Whenever you want to use the Gamertag with either console, insert it into the console's USB port. Press the "Xbox Guide" button and select the "Sign In" option. Select the Gamertag you placed on the flash drive to sign into the Xbox Live account and use it with the console.
Deleting Your Gamertag
- If you do not want to place your Xbox Live Gamertag on a flash drive, you can instead delete the Gamertag on the console you are not using and recover the Gamertag on the console that you want to use. To delete the Gamertag, scroll down to the "My Xbox" section of the Xbox 360 dashboard and select the "System Settings" option. Select the "Memory" option, followed by the "All Devices" option. Select the "Gamer Profiles" option, select the Gamertag that you want to delete and select the "Delete" option. Finally, select the "Delete Profile Only" option to remove the profile from your system.
Recovering Your Gamertag
- To recover your Gamertag on the second system, press the "Xbox Guide" button and press the "X" button to sign out of your current account. Press the "Xbox Guide" button a second time and select the "Recover Gamertag" option. Enter the Windows Live ID and password associated with the Gamertag in the spaces provided and sign into your Windows Live account. Follow the onscreen instructions to recover the Gamertag and begin using it on the second console.
