How to Get the Blue Phantom Achievement in Sonic

In "Sonic the Hedgehog" for Xbox 360, players take control of three different heroes -- Sonic, Shadow and Silver -- as they battle the evil Dr. Eggman over three intertwining story lines. Achievements are special incentives given to players for completing different in-game tasks. The Blue Phantom achievement is only available in Sonic's storyline and is awarded to you when you unlock each of Sonic's special moves. Sonic has two types of special moves -- required abilities which are necessary for completing the game -- and custom abilities which are linked to Chaos Gems.

Instructions

  Collect rings as you play through each level so that you can purchase new moves for Sonic from the main menu between levels. The number of rings you need in order to unlock a move varies depending on the ability. The least expensive move requires 100 rings, while the most expensive move requires 14,000 rings.

  Complete the game's main story line to unlock Sonic's three required moves. Light Dash is available before starting Act 1: Wave Ocean; Sliding Attack is available before starting Act 2: Dusty Desert; and Bound Jump is available before starting Act 6: Radical Train. These three moves are required in order to progress through the game.

  Play the game up to Act 8: Kingdom Valley to unlock the three Chaos Gems, which give Sonic different custom moves. The other four Chaos Gems are available before starting Act 9: Aquatic Base. Once unlocked, Chaos Gems must be purchased with rings.

  Purchase every special move in the game for Sonic to be able to unlock the Blue Phantom achievement.
