The Different Kinds of Zombies in Kino der Toten

Learn as much as you can about the different zombie types in "Call of Duty: Black Ops, Kino der Toten" to discover the key to beating them. You cannot "win" the game, and will eventually die, so beating your own best score is your triumphant goal. There are several zombie types to familiarize yourself with, but once you do, you will be a better player.
  1. The First Wave

    • Slow zombies are the first you encounter in "Kino der Toten." This group consists of low-ranking soldiers. They are much weaker than the stronger zombies that proceed them, and can be dispatched of from a distance with one head shot, or two to the body.

"Kino der Toten" zombies follow different patterns when it comes to movement. Some stagger and some limp very slowly, while others stumble toward you quickly. During the first wave, you only encounter the slower undead. If you want to conserve ammo, you can easily use your knife to take them down.

    Stronger Zombies

    • As you defeat your first few waves of zombies in "Kino der Toten," they become stronger, meaning your bullets and knife strikes have less effect on them. You see them in higher ranking uniforms. The stronger zombies behave very much like the first few waves, but they are more plentiful in number, which increases the amount of zombies that will stumble toward you quickly. The stronger group can easily overtake you if you become trapped.

    Crawling Zombies

    • Notice that some zombies in "Kino der Toten" begin to crawl, even after you've shot them down. They continue to crawl toward you until you kill them. Crawling zombies are among the most dangerous because they often go unnoticed, and attack just as you aim your gun at other approaching zombies. A crawling zombie can easily hit you once to distract you, essentially setting you up for zombies approaching on foot to catch you with your gun down.

    Hell Hounds

    • The last group of zombies you encounter, are very different from the others. Hell hounds are dogs mutated by an experiment gone wrong, and turned into vicious zombie creatures. They are as menacing and deadly as their name implies. Once they choose a target, they will not stop until the target is killed, or they are stopped.

A warning proceeds each group of hell hounds so you can prepare for them. The ground rumbles and shakes, and they appear in bursts of lightening. It is best to disable hell hounds from afar, as they are dangerous up close. They are powerful, and they have the ability to jump up and at you, making it hard to hit them.
