How to Use Maximus Toolbox 4.8

The Maximus Toolbox application is a Xbox 360 firmware and DVD drive modification utility developed for Windows operating systems. Version 4.8 of the application features various bug fixes and compatibility for Liteon drives. Maximus Toolbox works by accessing an Xbox 360 compatible DVD drive plugged in to your computer's USB port. The program flashes the disc drive's firmware, a procedure that alters the way the drive operates and processes discs. Different versions of the Xbox 360 console use different brands of disc drives, and the Maximus Toolbox application can be used to transfer firmware from one drive to another.

  Connect your Xbox 360 DVD drive to one of the USB ports on your computer.

  Launch the Maximus Toolbox application. Click on "Tools" in the main tool bar and select "Direct Drive Dump" from the drop-down menu.

  Select the Xbox 360 DVD drive from the list of available options and select "Use Raw."

  Press the "Eject" button from within the Maximus Toolbar application window. Place a game disc into the disc drive and press the "Load" button from within the Maximus Toolbar application window.

  Click the "RAW Dump Firmware As" button on the main tool bar. Select the desired destination and click "Save."

  Click "Yes" when prompted to begin the checksum scan. Click "Yes" once the checksum scan is complete to open the firmware file.

  Click on "Tools" in the main tool bar and select "Smart Hack Patcher" from the drop-down menu. Chose the save destination for the file and click the "Generate File" button.

  Click on "Tools" in the main tool bar and highlight the "Direct Drive Flash" option in the drop-down menu. Select "Differential Flash Patch" from the Direct Drive Flash sub-menu. Press the "Read Drive and Detect Differences" button and wait for the program to scan the drive. Press the "Start Flashing" button to complete the process.
