How to Replace Liteon Lasers With Benq

In the world of computer hardware, there are many more brand names than actual manufacturers. Such is the case for DVD drives used in computers and console games. For instance, Phillips manufactures most PC and Xbox DVD drives sold under Ban or Lite On brands. Lasers in most DVD drives for the PC seldom fail, as most users do not use the devices that often. DVD drives for the Xbox, on the other hand, tend to fail occasionally from constant and repeated use. Fortunately, for owners of an Xbox with a Lite On or Ban DVD drive, replacing the laser with a Phillips OEM part is relatively simple.

  • Long stick or wood dowel
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Torn screwdriver
