Things You'll Need
Instructions
Touch a metal object to ground yourself. This removes static electricity from your body, preventing it from damaging your circuits and chips.
Insert your fingers in the grooves behind the faceplate and pull it free. Remove the screws on the underside and rear of the Xbox 360 console.
Insert the pin into the heat exhaust holes to loosen the clips securing the side panels. The panel pops up slightly. Carefully wedge your fingers in and pull the panels free.
Unhook the clips on the front of the Xbox 360, which loosens the plastic case. Turn the Xbox 360 so that the rear is facing you. Insert the flat head screwdriver into the small notches on the center of the panel. The clips inside make a small snapping sound when loosened. Pull the bottom plastic case free of the console.
Turn the Xbox 360 so that you are viewing the underside. Unscrew the six screws securing the metallic plate to the console. Put the screws nearby in a container that prevents them from rolling away.
Wedge the flat head screwdriver beneath the reset button and pull it off. Turn the console so that you can view the topside and then pull the top case off to reveal the circuitry.
Remove pins four and five on the right side of the pin header with the pliers. The correct pin header is indicated on the installation diagram included with your DuoX2 chip.
Position the mod chip on the pin header so that the pins are visible on the top side of the chip. Heat the pins with the soldering iron and apply solder. Ensure that solder is smooth and shiny once applied.
Reverse steps two through 6 to reassemble the console casing.
