The Microsoft PHD-00001 and PHD-00010 are wireless network adapters made by the American technology corporation for the Xbox 360 video game console. The PHD-00001 was released in 2009, with the PHD-00010 making its debut as a replacement the following year. Apart from the differences in model number -- as well some subtle cosmetic changes -- the PHD-00001 and the PHD-00010 are essentially the same product.

Capabilities
- The Microsoft PHD-00001 and PHD-00010 adapters are designed for Xbox 360 users to gain access to the Internet without the need for wires. They enable the downloading and streaming of digital content like games, movies and television shows -- all at the maximum high-definition display quality of 1,920-by-1,080 pixels with progressive scan -- from the Xbox Live Marketplace service. The adapters also feature 5.1-channel surround sound.

- The wireless capability of both Microsoft adapters complies with the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers' 802.11a/b/g/n set of standards. With dual antenna, each adapter has a peak frequency rate of 5 GHz. The wireless transmission speed is set at 54 megabits per second.
Interface and Finish
- Each Microsoft PHD-00001 and PHD-00010 adapter has a USB interface for connection to the Xbox 360 at the rear. The body of each adapter has a black finish. The antenna of the PHD-00001 has a light-gray finish, similar to the major color of the Xbox 360, while the PHD-00010 has more of a bluish tint.
Physical Dimensions and Weight
- With the dual antenna in a standing position, the Microsoft PHD-00001 and PHD-00010 adapters measure nine inches (228.6 millimeters) in height. The width is 7.2 inches (182.9 millimeters), and the depth measures 2.5 inches (63.5 millimeters). Each adapter weighs 7.2 ounces (204.1 grams).
