How to Make an Xbox 360 Account

Microsoft introduced the Xbox in 2001 as the first gaming console to be powered by PC technology. Four years later in 2005, it debuted its second console -- the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 sold out immediately and as of the end of 2010, Microsoft had moved more than 50 million consoles. One of the biggest selling points of the Xbox 360 is the Xbox Live service for online gaming. With an Xbox 360 account, you can play games and talk with other Xbox live users, chat, watch movies and listen to music. Creating an Xbox 360 account can be done in a matter of minutes.

  Open you Web browser and navigate to Xbox.com. Click "Xbox Live" in the main toolbar, then click "Join Xbox Live" in the drop-down menu.

  Select the type pf Xbox Live account you want from the bottom of the screen. Xbox offers a free account in addition to Gold and Family Pack accounts that require a monthly payment.

  Enter your email address and click "Next." If you already have a Windows Live account, you will be directed to enter your password on the next screen. If you do not have a Windows Live account, click "Sign up" on the left side of the screen. Enter your email address, then supply a password, your name and date of birth. Click "Continue" when you are finished entering information.

  Enter your billing information if you have chosen a Gold or Family Pack account. If you signed up for a free account, you have already completed your registration. When finished entering your billing information, click "Next" to complete the registration process.
