How to Scan Objects in the Ghostbusters Video Game

"Ghostbusters: The Video Game" reunites the cast from the classic Ghostbuster films in a new interactive adventure. You are a rookie Ghostbuster who must learn the basics from veterans Ray, Egon and Venkman. A vital strategy for trapping ghosts is to first scan them with your PKE Meter. A successful scan tells you what type of weapon works well on that object, what paranormal behaviors it exhibits and what type of object it is. Get as close as you can to your target to get the best possible scan, which results in more information being acquired.

  Tap the "Y" button on your controller to equip the PKE Meter.

  Aim at the ghost or object you want to scan. Your proximity to the object determines which of the three connected rings on your PKE Meter screen is lit. If the outer ring is lit, you will get a 25 percent scan; if the middle ring is lit you will receive a 50 percent scan and if the inner ring is lit you will achieve a 100 percent scan. Each scan level gives you additional information on the object you're scanning, with a 100 percent scan giving you all available information.

  Hold in the right trigger on your controller to start the scan. Do not release the trigger until the scan is complete.
