How to Defeat Barthandelus on the Xbox 360

Barthandelus is the main antagonist of the roleplaying game "Final Fantasy XIII." He is a fal'Cie, supernatural beings that govern the humans of the world. Barthandelus fights the player's party three times during the game, taking on different forms each time. The player fights Barthandelus aboard the airship Palamecia, in the village of Oerba and at the final battle at Orphan's Cradle. In all three scenarios, Lightning should be set as the party leader.

Instructions

  Assign Fang and Vanille to your party for the first battle, and set the following Paradigms: Relentless Assault (Ravager/Commando/Ravager), Ruthless (Commando/Saboteur/Ravager) and Diversity (Ravager/Commando/Medic). Begin the fight with Relentless Assault, and attempt to destroy Barthandelus's armor, focusing on his Pauldrons first. Paradigm Shift to Ruthless to keep him debuffed while using Relentless when attacking and Diversity to heal.

  Assign Vanille and Fang or Snow to the party for the second battle. The second character, Fang or Snow, should always be set as a Sentinel. Set up the following Paradigms: Dirty Fighting (Commando/Sentinel/Saboteur), Delta Attack (Commando/Sentinel/Ravager), Mystic Tower (Ravager/Sentinel/Ravager) and Solidarity (Commando/Sentinel/Medic). Begin the fight by debuffing Barthandelus with Vanille using the Dirty Fighting paradigm. Then switch to Mystic Tower until Barthandelu is staggered. Switch to Delta Attack afterward for the remainder of the fight, switching to Solidarity when you need to heal.

  Start the third battle with Lightning, Fang and Hope in your party. Set up the following Paradigms: Protection (Medic/Sentinel/Synergist), Delta Attack, Mystic Tower and Combat Clinic (Medic/Sentinel/Medic). Never let your party's health fall below a green level during this fight, as Barthandelus's attacks can cause high damage. Begin the fight with Protection, and buff up your party members. Switch between Delta Attack and Mystic Tower while attacking, and use Combat Clinic for healing. When Barthandelus prepares to attack with the "Thanatosian Laughter" ability, switch to Combat Clinic as the party will take significant amounts of damage.
