How to Do Castle Crashers 256 Glitch Without Two Accounts

The level cap for "Castle Crashers" is 99. Players that have level 256 characters usually have exploited a glitch that requires using two Xbox Live Gold accounts. It is possible to get a level 256 character without two accounts by editing the save data. Having a level 256 character is automatically grounds for being permanently banned from the "Castle Crashers" servers. The standard glitch for reaching level 256 always carries a risk of getting banned. Editing the "Castle Crashers" save file can be done offline, so there is no risk of being banned as long as you do not use it in online multiplayer.

Instructions

    • 1

Copy the profile used to play "Castle Crashers" to a memory card.

    • 2

Remove the memory card. Turn off the console before removing any storage device from the Xbox 360.

    • 3

Connect the memory card to a PC USB port using a compatible connector.

    • 4

Open the profile using a hex editor.

    • 5

Search for the value "Medic" or hex value of "4D006500640069006300." You should use the hex editor's "Find" function to do this rather than scrolling through the file.

    • 6

Scroll down until you see "80" in the hex values. This is the flag that indicates a character is unlocked. This is the only reliable way to ensure you are looking in the right place for the level value.

    • 7

Change the hex value immediately after the "80" to "FF." In hexadecimal, the value of "FF" is the highest possible value. It is equivalent to 256. This is the highest possible value for the level to be in "Castle Crashers."

    • 8

      Save the edited profile.

    • 9

Insert the memory card back into the Xbox 360.
