How to Get the Grand Pearl Pooh Bah Achievement

"Hexic HD," an Xbox 360 arcade game, is free from Microsoft and comes preinstalled on newer systems. The game challenges players to earn a top score by matching colored gems and creating black pearls. "Hexic HD" has 12 Achievements to be earned, and the Grand Pearl Pooh-Bah Achievement is the most difficult of them all. This 25-point Achievement requires you to create six black pearls and then arrange them in a circle around any other colored piece. It takes a bit of strategy to create even one black pearl, so making six and arranging them perfectly requires mastery of basic "Hexic HD" concepts.

Instructions

- 1
  Arrange a group of same-colored gems in a circle to make a star flower. If you form a cluster of same-colored gems, they disappear, so plan each gem's move before you make it.

  Watch the top of the screen for falling bombs. If a bomb falls on the board, you have a limited number of turns before it explodes. When that happens, the game is over. Match the bomb with at least two other gems of the same color to eliminate it.

  Match more colored gems to create six total star flowers. Star flowers are much like regular gems. A matching group of three or more disappears from the board.

  Move the star flowers into a circular arrangement. When you position star flowers this way, a black pearl forms. Move the black pearl to side of the board.

  Create six more star flowers and, as before, form a circle with them to make a black pearl. Repeat this process until you have six black pearls.
- 6
  Move each black pearl around the board until you form a circle with them. When you do, the Grand Pearl Pooh-Bah Achievement unlocks.
