Race Shortcuts
All of the racetracks have hidden shortcuts that give you a chance to break away from the pack. For example, in the Beached level, you can run around the stranded pirate ship by taking the far right path. These little deviations from the path help you put distance between you and the other racers, while avoiding the silly items that drop you to lower positions if you run into them.
Classic Gamer Reward
You can only activate the Classic Gamer Reward achievement in "Viva Pinata Party Animals" with a cheat code. The cheat code is hidden in the game's printed manual, with one button in the corner of each page. If you enter "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A and Start" from the title screen of "Viva Pinata Party Animals," you will unlock the achievement.
Character Achievements
You can only unlock certain achievements in this title by performing specific actions as certain characters. You earn one of these specialized achievements by beating a game of "Party Animals" as Hailey Horstachio in a higher position than Hudson Horstachio. You earn another achievement by playing through a game as Fraknlin Fizzlybear without getting hit by any items during a race. Take note of the achievement descriptions and do your best to force the AI to work with you.
Mini-Game Achievements
You will have to play your best during the mini-games to earn this group of special achievements. Bumping all three of your opponents out of the roaming spotlight in the "Spotlight Mania" game earns you the "Don't Be Left in the Dark" achievement. If you play extremely well, you can grab 99 or more candies in any of the candy collecting mini-games to unlock the "Stuffed!" reward achievement. Many mini-games have their own achievements, so play to win if you want to earn them all.
