Cheat Codes
"Viva Pinata" uses a unique cheat code entry method. You must start a new garden and name it the cheat code to unlock the benefits in all of your gardens. If the cheat codes don't work for you, try entering them again as you may have accidentally misspelled them. Cheats, like "Goobaa" and "Bullseye," unlock new accessories in the Paper Pets store area of the Village.
Variant Pinatas
One of the biggest mysteries in "Viva Pinata" is finding all three color variants for each pinata species. Variant pinatas are found by feeding the animals strange food, plants and seeds. For example, the normally blue Cinnamonkey turns red when it is fed a chili. Try feeding pinatas all sorts of exotic items to discover variants. If the pinata will not eat an item, try raising its happiness level by feeding it some candy. Happy pinatas are much more likely to eat anything you feed them.
Fertilizer Types
Fertilizer is an very effective method of growing giant plants that produce huge amounts of flowers and fruit. If you don't match the fertilizer color to the correct type of plant, the dose of fertilizer will not have any effect on the plant's growth. As an example, adding three doses of Yellow Fertilizer will grow an intensely large banana tree. Use the expensive Special Mix Fertilizer, if you aren't sure which color to use, since it boosts the growth of any plant.
Secret Achievements
"Viva Pinata" hides many hidden achievements that players may never find unless specific scenarios arise in the garden. If Ruffians invade your garden while a tamed Mallowolf is present, it will scare the red hooligans away with a scary howl that results in an achievement. Leading a Cluckles pinata to an egg will instantly hatch it and reward you with an achievement. Guide a Chewnicorn to an ill pinata to heal it without having to pay for the doctor to cure it. Put your pinatas into strange situations and the secrets will start to reveal themselves.
