In "Viva Pinata," your aim is to develop a garden by planting and cultivating plants appropriate to increase its value and attract various kinds of candy-filled pinatas. Developed by Rare for the Xbox 360 gaming console, the game's cutesy and colorful exterior might make it seems like it was designed with a young audience in mind, but the gameplay actually has enough depth and strategy to enthrall older and more experienced gamers. Hidden within "Viva Pinata" are a number of cheats and strategies to access new bonus items, acquire money easier and even attract high-level Pinatas.

Easy Money
- To get easy money in "Viva Pinata," first go to the village in the menu, select "Costalots" and purchase Chili Seed, which cost 22 Chocolate Coins a piece. Buy as many as you can and then return to your garden, where they should automatically plant themselves if you selected that option. Then use the Watering Can to water them until their leaves turn blue, being careful not to over-water them or they will die. Keep a close eye on them until they detach from the stack, and then select them all using the "Sell" button. They sell for 100 Chocolate Coins, making you a tidy profit. Repeat this as many times as you wish to become rich. If you put red fertilizer on the Chili Seed you can sell them for 400 Chocolate Coins when fully grown, but they will take longer to reach maturity.
Bonus Accessory Codes
- You can acquire new accessories in "Viva Pinata" by entering certain names when naming your gardens. If you enter "chewnicorn" as a garden name, you will unlock five new accessories at the Pet shop. Entering "Bullseye" will net you new clothing items for your Pinatas. Naming your garden "goobaa" will unlock further new apparel for your Pinatas. Finally, entering "Kittyfloss" as your garden name will unlock YMCA-style items.
Getting a Badgesicle
- To get the Badgesicle, a Level 5 Pinata with a base value of 1,500 Chocolate Coins, you need a total of four nocturnal residents in your garden for it to pay a visit. Before it can become a resident, it needs to each two Pumpkins and one Newgat, and to romance it needs to eat one Squazzil and two Tulip Seeds. In addition, you must have a Badgesicle house in your garden. If you wish to change its color to red, feed it an apple; for blue, feed it a Bluebell Seed; for fuchsia, give it a jar of honey.
Getting an Arocknid
- To acquire an Arocknid for your garden, you must be a Level 6 gardener or above and possess either four Raisants or Tafflies. Arocknits are Level 5 Pinatas that have a Web attack, can climb trees and have a value of 1,500 Chocolate Coins. It has two Raisants or Tafflies to settle in your garden. To have an Arocknid romance, it must consume two Buzzlegums from your garden. Feed an Arocknid a Water Lily Flower to turn it pink, a Jack o' Lantern to turn it orange, and a Blue Bell flower to turn it blue.
