How to Play Xbox Games on Your Computer

The Xbox is made by Microsoft, right? So, it seems that a PC, running on a Microsoft operating system, might be able to play Xbox games, right? Well, yes. Sort of. The only way a computer is ever capable of playing a console game is by running software known as an emulator. The Xbox emulation scene is new, only about five years old.

Things You'll Need

  • Intel 3 PC with 700 MHz processor
  • At least 256 MB of RAM
  • An NVIDIA GeForce 3/Ti or ATI Radeon 8500 graphics card
  • Windows XP
  • An Xbox emulator
  • Turok Evolution or the Halo (NTSC version only)

Instructions

    • 1

Download an Xbox emulator. Only two are available at the moment: Xeon and Cxbc. Both are available online.

    • 2

Open the downloaded file. It is a .zip file and may open immediately depending on your computer preferences.

    • 3

      Open the emulator.

    • 4

Put the game disk into your hard drive, "Halo" or "Turok Evolution," depending on the emulator.

    • 5

Load the game file on the emulator. Go to File and scroll down to Load.

    • 6

Play the game. There will be some glitches, as these emulators are far from perfect.
