How to Troubleshoot Xbox Action Replay

Codejunkies' Action Replay cartridge for Xbox allows users to get the most from Microsoft Xbox games by downloading and installing presaved games loaded with extra and hard-to-obtain features. The device is not licensed by Microsoft, so it can be subject to problems, although using it won't void your Xbox warranty. You can fix most Action Replay problems by troubleshooting the device's connection and operating software.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect and reconnect the device from the computer or Xbox. Check the connection points to make sure they are not dirty or blocked and then push the cartridge back into place securely.

    • 2

Close and re-open the Save Manager software on your computer. If the software repeatedly fails to recognize your Action Replay, insert the CD that came with the device and double-click "Install." If you are using Vista, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" to reload the drivers for your device.

    • 3

Go to the Codejunkies website and download the latest operating software for your Action Replay. Close, but do not uninstall, your existing software and double-click the downloaded file to update your software.

    • 4

Delete save-games from other users from your Action Replay because they can corrupt the data on the card. Use only data from the Saves section of the Codejunkies database, not from the Community section or other websites.

    • 5

Contact Codejunkies if these steps do not work. Your card may be damaged or in need of professional attention.
