Using manual casting allows you to cast your line a greater distance. Change the controller sensitivity settings to High or Very High for maximum casting distance.
Listen to Your Buddy
One feature in the game is a fishing buddy who shares the boat with you. IGN says it's important to listen to the fishing buddy because he alerts you to mistakes and suggests better tactics.
Catch More Fish
While different methods work well with different fish, one strategy works well with every kind. Stop the boat in grassy areas and cast the lure as far as you can. This keeps fish from being startled by the boat and allows more time for the fish to see the lure when you're reeling it.
