How to Copy Saved Games From XBox to PC

Copying saved Xbox games onto your computer will give you the ability to send those files to friends and fellow gamers via email. Copying saved games from the Xbox to the computer also creates backups for those particular games. These copies can be a lifesaver if your Xbox hard drive and/or memory card fails. Transferring Xbox game saves from the gaming system directly to your computer is not possible. Therefore, a third-party accessory is needed to transfer the saved Xbox games to a PC.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase an Action Replay kit for the Xbox. The kit includes a setup CD, Action Replay USB adapter and an Xbox memory card.

    • 2

Place the Action Replay setup CD in the computer. The installation instructions will appear on the computer screen. Follow the step-by-step installation instructions to install Action Replay software on the computer.

    • 3

Insert an Xbox memory card into the memory card slot on the Xbox controller. Make sure the controller is plugged into the "Player 1" slot on the Xbox console.

    • 4

Put the Xbox game that has the saved game you want to copy to the PC into the console. Press "Power" on the system to start the Xbox game.

    • 5

Save the Xbox game on the memory card. The method for doing so will vary based upon which Xbox title you are playing. For example, in "College Hoops 2k7," choose the "Load/Save" tab on the "Legacy Main Menu" screen. Select "Save Legacy." Press the black button on the Xbox controller until "Memory Card" appears at the bottom of the screen. Scroll to the saved game you want to copy. Press "A." The saved game copies to the memory card. Wait for the "Game has successfully saved" message to appear on the screen.

    • 6

Turn the Xbox off and remove the Xbox memory card from the controller.

    • 7

Plug the Action Replay USB adapter into a USB port on the personal computer. Then, insert the Xbox memory card into the card slot on the Action Replay USB adapter.

    • 8

Open the Action Replay software on the computer. A window will appear.

    • 9

Click the Xbox game saved in the "Memory Card" slot inside the open window. Drag that game save over to the "PC database" column in the open window. The saved Xbox game will be copied onto the computer, inside a folder that shares the name of the Xbox video game title. The computer will automatically create this folder, and the folder will be saved in the "Action Replay" folder on your computer. The location of the Action Replay folder is determined by you when installing the Action Replay software on the computer (in step 2).
