How to Make an Xbox Controller Work With Quake 4

Quake 4 is a first person shooter game made for a variety of different gaming platforms, including the Microsoft XBox and computer. When playing the video game on your gaming system you can use any connected XBox controller during game play. There are a few different controller options, so you may want to calibrate the controller before starting out your game.

      Connect the cable running out of the XBox controller into one of the controller ports on the XBox.

      Insert the Quake 4 video game into the CD/DVD tray of the XBox gaming system and momentarily it loads.

      Press "Start" after the opening cut scene, then select "Options."

      Chose "Controller" and select a controller setting you feel comfortable with. Once you are happy with the controller selection press "OK" and you exit out of the controller options. Select "New Game" and begin your Quake 4 video game.

    On PC

      Connect the XBox controller into the XBox to USB adapter.

      Plug the USB end of the adapter into the USB port on your computer. The adapter is a plug-n-play device so you do not need to install any drivers for the XBox controller to work on your computer.

      Insert the Quake 4 video game into the computer's CD/DVD drive and launch the game.

      Select "Options" when the game loads, then choose "Controller." Select the controller configuration you like the best from the settings available and select "OK." You can now begin playing the Quake 4 game on your PC with an XBox controller.
