A gamertag is a user name or screen name of the Xbox Live online service for use on the Xbox 360 video game console. WinRar is an unarchiving utility for the Windows operating system. WinRar may prove necessary to extract utilities to hack your Xbox 360; however, such a process could void your console's warranty. Luckily, making changes to your Xbox Live gamertag does not require any hacking or additional software, and you can complete it simply by logging in to your Xbox Live account from your Windows XP computer.

     Open your Web browser via the "Start" menu. Navigate your browser to Microsoft's Xbox website (see the link in the References section).

     Log in to your Xbox Live account by typing your associated Windows Live ID and password.

     Click your Xbox Live gamertag in the upper-right corner once logged in. Click "Edit Profile."

     Click "Change Gamertag." Type the new, modified gamertag. Click "Change Gamertag." Click "Save" to save the changes.
