How to Mod a Gamertag Without EZGT

EZGT is a utility used for hacking your Xbox 360. The utility can create custom gamertags, among other changes. Unfortunately, using such a utility can void your console's warranty and thus you may want to avoid it. Luckily, you can still make changes to your Xbox Live gamertag on the console itself, within your account settings. The process is quick and simple, though it may cost a few Microsoft Points.

Instructions

  Power on the Xbox 360. Navigate to "My Xbox" when the dashboard loads.

  Select your Xbox Live gamertag. Log in, if you are not automatically logged in.

  Select "Change Gamertag." You may be informed of the associated price of modifying your gamertag, if this is not your first time (Microsoft charges Microsoft Points for subsequent changes).

  Select "Enter New Gamertag." Enter the modified gamertag using the on-screen keyboard. Click "Yes, use this gamertag" to save the changes.
