How to Search for a Gamertag on the Internet

Microsoft's Xbox LIVE service uses Gamertags to distinguish each account owner from another. Xbox LIVE users have the ability to search for other Gamertags directly from their Xbox 360 consoles, but they can also use the Xbox LIVE website to search for them. If your Xbox 360 isn't currently connected to the Internet or if using the Internet on your computer is more convenient, search for a Gamertag using the Xbox LIVE website.

Instructions

  Visit Xbox.com, Xbox 360's official website, and click the "Sign In" link near the top of the page (see Resources). Enter in your account email address and password and click "Sign In."

  Click on your Gamertag near the top of the page to go to your profile page and then click "View All Friends" near the bottom of the page.

  Scroll down the page to the "Find a Friend" section and type the Gamertag you'd like to search for in the box. Hit "Enter" to search for the Gamertag.
