There are many achievements in the Xbox Live Arcade title "Gauntlet" that rely on you getting the highest score on the game's high score board. Elf Master requires you to get the highest score with the Elf character while using the default settings. This can be achieved easily on the first level. The default high score the game sets is 8,000, but this might be different on your game if you have already beaten this score.

Start a game with the default settings as the Elf.

Head down from where you start the first level and defeat the single spawner.

Go to the bottom of the screen, where there are several spawners.

Kill the monsters that constantly spawn, but do not destroy the spawners.

Continue this until you beat the high score. Die to unlock the achievement.
