How to Change the Family Setting Password on Xbox Live

Because the Xbox Live gaming system allows its players to interact with other gamers on the Internet and some of the games are not suitable for all ages, it is important to install passwords on the family setting of the game. This allows for age-inappropriate games and movies to be restricted, creating a safer Xbox environment for the entire family. Changing the family setting password is quick and easy.

Instructions

      Navigate to to "My Xbox."

      Choose "System settings."

      Choose "Family Settings" if you do not subscribe to family pack and choose "Family Center" if you do subscribe to family pack.

      Choose "Set pass code."

      Choose "Pass code." Using the X and Y keys on your controller, input a four-digit pass code.

      Input the four-digit pass code again for confirmation.

    • 7

      Select a code-reset secret question.

    • 8

      Input the secret question answer. This can be done by either using your computer keyboard or the controller.

      Choose "Done."

    • 10

      Choose "Yes, save changes."
