How to Format My Seagate External HDD to Download From Xbox Live

In 2010, Microsoft released a patch to all Xbox 360 models to allow them to recognize any external USB hard drive. This recognition makes it possible for the hard drive to function as additional storage for the Xbox 360, meaning you can download items from Xbox Live onto the external USB hard drive. Formatting an external hard drive, such as a Seagate External HDD, takes only a few minutes.

     Attach the Seagate HDD to your Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 has two USB ports on its front and two on its back.
