How to Transfer an Xbox Live Gold Account to a New Credit Card

When you have a valid credit card linked to your Xbox Live Gold account, you're able to automatically renew your membership and purchase Microsoft Points, the currency used for Xbox Live downloadable content. You can use either your Xbox 360 console or the Xbox website to transfer your account from one credit card to another. Keep all of your personal information current in your Xbox Live Gold account so that you won't experience a loss of service.

Instructions

  1. Using Xbox 360

    • 1

Sign in to Xbox Live using your Xbox Live Gold profile.

    • 2

Select "My Xbox," then move one tab to the right to access your player profile and press the "A" button.

    • 3

Move one tab to the right and select "Manage Account."

    • 4

Select "Manage Payment Options." Move one tab to the right to see your memberships and choose "Xbox Live Gold."

    • 5

Select "Change Payment Options." Choose "Add Credit Card."

    • 6

Enter the requested information for the credit card that you'd like to link to your account. This will replace your old credit card and make the new one the default.

Press the "X" button next to your old credit card to permanently remove that card from your Xbox Live Gold account.
