How to Get a Free 48-Hour Xbox Live Trial

Connect your console to the Internet. You can use a wireless adapter, which must be purchased separately, or you can connect an Ethernet cable between your Xbox 360 and your router. A broadband connection is required.

Choose "My Xbox" from the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Go to "Sign-In" and "Create Profile."

Create a new account by following the instructions that appear on the screen.

Go to "My Box" again and select your profile. Move over to "Account Management." From this menu select "Manage Account."

Pick the option that allows you to "Redeem Code." Tear off the strip of paper on the back of the Xbox Live pass you got with the game to reveal the membership code. Enter this in the box on the screen to activate your trial.
