The Xbox Live Marketplace is an online community containing information about and downloads for all the available Xbox Live games. While most of these Xbox Live games are not free, there are some free, full-game downloads hidden within the Web site and plenty of free trial games. Unfortunately, you have to manually search through the categories to find these free games. After you have found the free game or free trial game you want to download, it is easy to get it.

  Visit the Xbox Live Marketplace Web site (see References) and click on the "Games" link.

  Select a sub-category (optional). Your options are "All Games," "Xbox 360 Games," "Arcade," "Games on Demand" and "Indie."

  Choose a genre (optional). Your options are "Action &Adventure," "Card &Board," "Classics," "Educational," "Family," "Fighting," "Music," "Other," "Platformer," "Puzzle &Trivia," "Racing &Flying," "Role Playing," "Shooter," "Sports &Recreation" and "Strategy &Simulation."

  Enable game rating sorting (optional). Your options are "eC (Early Childhood)," "E (Everyone)," "E10 (Everyone 10+)," "T (Teen)," "M (Mature)" and "RP (Rating Pending)."

  Sort the resulting list by clicking the "SORT BY" dropdown list (optional). Your options are to sort by "Release date," "Best Selling Today," "Best Selling All-Time," "Top Rated," and "Title."

  Search through the list and click on game titles to find out their prices. When you find the game you want to get, click the "Download to Xbox 360" button on the game page and follow the onscreen prompts to log in to your Xbox 360 Live account and add it to your Xbox 360 download queue. The next time you turn on your Xbox 360 and log in to your Xbox Live account the game will automatically begin downloading.
