How to Get Map Packs for MW2

Activision made two map pack expansions for the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with each product sold as a downloadable content (DLC). The Stimulus Package map pack includes six unique maps and four reworked maps from Call of Duty 4. Resurgence, the other map pack, comes with three new maps and two updated versions of older Call of Duty maps. Each pack was originally priced at $15, or the equivalent of 1200 Microsoft Points.

Instructions

    • 1

Install your MW2 software or load up the game disc to your console and set up your account. If you have already been playing the game without the extra maps, you just need to get connected as you normally would.

    • 2

Establish an account on Microsoft Live or the PlayStation Network, if applicable, or get your PC game connected online. Since the map packs are digital downloads that are purchased electronically, you need to be fully connected in order to buy and install them.

    • 3

Navigate to the Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Store or your PC game's tab for purchasing downloads. Locate Modern Warfare 2 map packs by scrolling through or searching for MW2. Select the map pack you wish to download.

    • 4

Pay for the map pack by entering credit card information, charging the amount to an account on file, or spending your Microsoft Live points. After payment, the system will automatically walk you through the steps of confirming the download itself.

    • 5

Access the maps by loading the game as you normally would after the download is complete. Some of the maps may contain glitches that require you to download patch software for free to fix them, if you wish.
