How to Find Your Friends on Xbox Live

Xbox Live allows players from across the world to play games together online through a broadband connection and the Xbox 360 console. Every player with an Xbox Live account has a gamertag, which is a personal identifier. If you want to play with friends, you can add them to an online list on your gamer account, then you'll be able to easily set up matches and start online parties. To play against your friends and add them to your "friends list," you need to search them out over Xbox Live.

Instructions

  Find out your friend's Xbox Live gamertag. This is a personal identifier that each player with an Xbox Live account creates.

  Turn on your Xbox 360 and log in to your game profile.

  Scroll over until the "Friends" tab at the top of the screen is highlighted, then press "A."

  Select the "Add Friend" option and then select "Search."

  Enter in your friend's gamertag and then press "Done."

  Select "Send Friend Request" if the gamertag was entered correctly to send your friend a request to be added to each others' in-game friends list.
