How to Use a PC Headset With XBox

Voice chatting with other players enhances Xbox Live online games by promoting communication and teamwork during the gaming session. The Xbox 360 has its own headset, but if you already have a PC headset you would like to use, you can purchase an adapter to connect your PC headset to the Xbox controller.

Instructions

  Insert the PC headset microphone plug into the pink female jack of the colored y-splitter cable. Your microphone plug will usually be pink in color or have a small microphone symbol on it.

  Insert the other PC headset plug into the black female jack of the black y-splitter cable.

  Plug one male side of the black y-splitter cable into the green female jack of the colored y-splitter cable.

  Plug the other male side of the black y-splitter cable into the female jack of the black extension cable.

  Plug the male end of the black extension cable into the audio output or headphone jack of the television set.

  Plug the male end of the colored y-splitter into the headset jack on your Xbox 360 controller. You should now be able to use your PC headset and microphone to both listen and speak to other players on an Xbox LIVE game.
