How to Change Your Voice on XBox Live

Online gaming with voice communication definitely has its advantages. Players can speak with each other and make strategies on the fly while playing a game rather than the antiquated move of talking on the phone. This feature has been available on computers for a long time, but Microsoft took voice communication even further when it introduced the voice masking feature in Xbox Live.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your headset to your Xbox controller. Plug the communicator module into the expansion port on the top of the controller. Then insert the headset plug into the module.

    • 2

Adjust your microphone. Make sure the volume is at a tolerable level in the headset and also make sure your microphone is not muted. The mute button glows green when you aren't muted. It is red when muted.

    • 3

      Turn on your Xbox.

    • 4

      Insert and start your game.

    • 5

Follow your game's instruction manual for voice masking options. Each game with voice masking has a different way to activate it. Check your game's instruction manual for this information. For example, in Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War, you can change your voice in the Limbo or Change Class menu while doing online multiplayer.
