Instructions
Switch on the Xbox and the television.
Insert the software disc for the wireless adapter into the Xbox, then turn the gaming system off and switch it back on. Select "Yes, Update Now" when the message appears on the TV screen.
Attach the Xbox wireless adapter to the back of the gaming console by pushing the two plastic tabs on the adapter into the slots in the upper right-hand corner of the Xbox. Adjust the two antennas on the adapter upward and plug the cable on the adapter into the USB port on the Xbox just below the adapter.
Check the adapter to see if the green light comes on in the upper right corner. A blinking light indicates the adapter is trying to connect with the wireless modem. When the light stays on, the adapter is connected.
Use the Xbox controller to select "My Xbox" on the TV screen, then highlight "System Settings" and choose "Network Settings."
Choose "Configure Network" and select "Basic Settings," then choose "Wireless Mode." Highlight "Scan for Networks" using the up and down arrow keys on the Xbox controller.
Select the desired wireless network from the list that will appear. For example, if the household network is named "HouseNET1," highlight that network. Use the controller keys to enter the security code for the wireless network. The security code may be printed on the back of the wireless modem or in the instruction manual that came with the modem when it was purchased.
Use the arrow keys on the Xbox controller to highlight and select "Done."
