Connecting your Xbox console to Verizon broadband is a simple process and unlocks its true potential with the Xbox Live service.

  Turn off all of your devices, including your Xbox, router, modem and any PCs connected to the network.

  Connect your Xbox console to your modem using the Ethernet cable. If you are using a router in addition to a modem, connect your console to the router instead, which should be connected to the modem.

  Power on your modem and, if available, router. Wait a moment for the modem to initialize and connect to the Internet.

  Turn on your Xbox console and go to the Xbox Dashboard.

  Choose the "Join Xbox Live" option or try to attempt to connect to the "Marketplace." If you already have an Xbox Live account, log in to connect to Xbox Live. If you do not have an Xbox Live account, follow the on-screen prompts to set it up. You can set up a Silver account for free or a Gold account for a monthly or yearly fee.
