How Do I Find Drivers for My XBox Webcam?

The Xbox Live Vision Camera provides an easy way to get personal video onto Xbox Live. You can use the camera in Xbox 360 games to take gamer pictures, send video, chat and more. However, the Xbox Live Vision Camera also doubles as a regular PC webcam. You can connect the camera to your Windows PC to enjoy all the features of a regular webcam, such as web chat and picture uploading. All that is required is letting Windows find the drivers for the camera.

  Log into Microsoft Windows XP SP2, Vista or Seven.

  Plug the Xbox Live Vision Camera into a high-speed USB 2.0 port on your PC. The high-speed ports are most likely to be located in the front or back of the computer itself, rather than the keyboard or monitor.

  Proceed through the New Hardware Wizard. When you plug the camera in, this wizard will start. Allow the wizard to look online for new drivers. The wizard will contact Microsoft and download the drivers for your Xbox Live Vision Camera automatically. When the Wizard finishes downloading the drivers, click "Ok" to finish.
