How to Upgrade to XBox Live Gold Member

Microsoft's Xbox Live is a large online gaming community, with over 17-million registered users as of 2008, according to the Seattle Post Intelligencer. Nearly 60 percent of Xbox Live members hold Gold memberships, which requires a subscription.

The basic Xbox Live membership (Silver) is fine, allowing users to download games from the Xbox Marketplace. But to access more features and engage in online play with other users, you want to upgrade to the Gold membership.
