Your Xbox system does not come with all the equipment you need for your connection, but if you have an Internet connection, you may already have all the needed equipment. The only thing you may have to buy is an Ethernet cable.

      Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into your modem and plug the other end into the Internet, WAN or WLAN port on the back of your router.

      Plug your router into an electrical outlet. The Internet, WAN or WLAN light on your router should light up once it is successfully connected to your modem.

      Plug your computer network cable into your router.

      Turn off your Xbox if it is on.

      Plug in one end of a Ethernet cable into your router and the other end of the Ethernet cable into the network port on the back of your Xbox. You can now restart your Xbox and, following the prompts on the screen, create an Xbox Live account.
