Instructions
Insert the base of the wired headset into the base of the Xbox 360 controller. The base of the wired headset looks like a metal earphone plug protruding out of a plastic switch box, attached by a wire. Wireless headsets have a similar plug-in, but without an attached wire.
Move the switch to the "on" position. The switch is located at the base and connected to the Xbox 360 controller. The switch on the base of the headset allows the user to mute his voice while playing games.
Load a video game and access the multiplayer function. Most multiplayer games allow the user to directly speak to teammates and, after a round is complete, to her opponents.
Speak into the microphone while in a multiplayer game and your teammates will hear it.
Create an Xbox Live party by going into the main menu, selecting the party menu and sending invites to gamers on the selected friends list. This option will allow only the people in the party to be able to speak with one another, even if in a different game or on an enemy team.
