Learn to move and shoot. On the arcade and Xbox 360 versions of Smash TV, you have two directional controls-moving and shooting. On the arcade, to move you use the left joystick and to shoot you use the right joystick. On the Xbox 360, you can use the analog sticks to move and shoot, or you can use the directional pad to move and the face buttons to shoot in the eight different directions (up, down, left, right and the diagonals). The controls can be tricky at first, so if you're new to Smash TV, spend some time getting acquainted.
Kill all enemies in a room to move on. There are three stages in Smash TV, each consisting of several rooms you have to complete to move on. At the end of each stage, you will have to defeat a boss. You will encounter many types of enemies in Smash TV, such as the typical baseball-bat-wielding thugs, the exploding shrapnel man and stationary turret gunners. Defeat them all to move on.
Pick up items. There are several power-ups in Smash TV, such as a three-way shot, missiles, shields and protective ninja blades. Power-ups automatically engage when you pick them up, so plan ahead and use them wisely.
Get prizes to increase your score. The premise of Smash TV is you are competing on a reality shows that rewards you with great prizes like a toaster if you survive. Pick up the cash and presents to increase your score, but don't risk your life too much for them.
Keep moving and don't get caught or shot by the enemies. The key to Smash TV is to keep moving. Staying stationary is a great way to get killed. Plan routes and constantly be running and shooting to even have a chance at this difficult game.
