How to Kick Someone From Your Game on XBox Live

Running your own instance of a game on Xbox Live comes with a number of challenges, one of which is keeping the game safe from hackers and players with toxic personalities. A destructive player can cause great damage to the experience you are offering others; it is critical to remove these players as quickly as possible. The exact process for kicking someone from your game varies from title to title.

  Open the player list in your game. In most titles, you can do this by pressing the Back button on the Xbox 360 controller, though some require you to press the Start button and access the list from the pause menu.

  Scroll through the list of player names until you find the individual you want to kick.

  Press the button on your controller that corresponds to the ̶0;Kick̶1; command. Highlighting a player should provide you with a list of player commands.

  Confirm the kick if necessary. In most cases, kicked players cannot rejoin the server from which they were removed.
