How to Redeem an Xbox Code

If you have a prepaid Xbox code, you can redeem it for virtual goods such as Microsoft Points, premium content or an Xbox LIVE Gold membership. Microsoft Points serve as the currency for buying games, movies, music and avatar items on the Xbox marketplace. Redeem your prepaid code on the Xbox website or from an Xbox LIVE account on your console.

Instructions

Redeem on a Computer

  Go to the Xbox Redeem Code page (link in Resources) and sign in to your Microsoft or Xbox LIVE account.

  Type the 25-character code found on the back of your prepaid card.

  Click "Redeem Code."
Redeem on Your Xbox Console

  Power on the Xbox console. Press the "Guide" button on your controller and select "Sign in to Xbox LIVE."

  Sign in to the Xbox LIVE account for which you want to apply the prepaid code.

  Press the "Guide" button and scroll left to select the "Games & Apps" tab.

  Select "Redeem Code."

  Enter the 25-character code using the on-screen keyboard. Select "Done."

  Select "Yes" to confirm and redeem the code.
