How to Recover a Gamertag From a PC

A Gamertag is an identification systems used by Microsoft Xbox Live and Microsoft Windows Live. If you have created a Gamertag on your PC using Windows Live, you can recover the tag and use it on your Xbox 360. Recovering the tag requires Internet access for your Microsoft Xbox 360. Some achievements may be lost during transfer, as achievements for computer games are not always the same for the Xbox version.

     Turn on your Xbox 360, but do not sign in to your Xbox Live account if you have one set up.

     Press the large button located in the center of your controller.

     Highlight ̶0;Recover Gamertag,̶1; then press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

     Select ̶0;Recover Gamertag,̶1; then enter your Windows Live ID and password.

   • 5

     Choose the option to port your Windows Live ID to your Xbox 360.
