How to Make an Effective Xbox Live Clan

Xbox Live and the Xbox 360 in general feature many competitive multi-player games that are ideal for clans. A gaming clan is a group of people who play the same game regularly, usually with the intention of competing against other clans. Though it is not difficult to start a clan, managing and maintaining interest is where the challenge comes in. It is not enough to just recruit members; clans must practice and have some form of a schedule or goals to be effective and competitive.

  Recruit people to join the clan. A quick way to scout new talent is to play games and invite potential candidates in the game itself.

  Create a website or forum for the clan to use when not gaming. Having either of those makes it easy for the clan to communicate when not on Xbox Live. These can also be a good way to handle recruitment and schedule clan practices.

  Practice and play together on a regular basis. When practicing for tournaments, practice the maps and game modes relative to the tournament to become competitive.

  Join leagues and tournaments. Tournaments keep the clan active and help establish the clan's notoriety within the community of the game the clan plays.
