How to Get New Characters on Xbox's Castle Crashers

"Castle Crashers" has a total of 28 characters from which players can choose. Only the Blue Knight, Green Knight, Orange Knight and Red Knight are initially available. The other 24 characters must be unlocked before use. Only 19 of these characters are available within "Castle Crashers" itself. The "King Pack DLC" and "Necromantic Pack DLC" must be purchased to unlock the remaining four characters. These characters are immediately available after installing the downloadable content (DLC) packs from Xbox Live. The Alien is only unlocked if you have an achievement in "Alien Hominid HD," another game by The Behemoth.

Unlockable Characters

  Start a new game with the Blue Knight, Green Knight, Orange Knight and Red Knight.

  Kill the Barbarian Boss to unlock the Gray Knight. He is the first boss in "Castle Crashers." He is not very difficult. All of his attacks are slow and easy to avoid and most can be blocked.

  Complete the King's Arena to unlock the Barbarian. Arenas are optional levels where you fight waves of enemies. Defeating all the waves of enemies is required to complete the arena. If you have trouble completing an arena, come back at a higher level and try again.

  Complete the Thieves' Arena to unlock the Thief.

  Complete the Volcano Arena to unlock Conehead.

  Complete the Peasant Arena to unlock the Peasant.

  Complete the Icy Arena to unlock Iceskimo.

  Beat the game using these characters. You must complete every level and beat every boss. You do not have to complete the arenas. The final boss is the Evil Wizard. Beating the game with the Blue Knight unlocks the Industrialist. Beating the game with the Green Knight unlocks the Royal Guard. Beating the game with the Orange Knight unlocks the Fire Demon. Beating the game with the Red Knight unlocks the Skeleton.

  Beat the entire game again with the remaining three starting characters. You do not have to do the arenas again. You only need to beat each one once to unlock the characters from these arenas.

  Complete the entire game with the Royal Guard, Skeleton, Industrialist, Fire Demon, Gray Knight, Barbarian, Thief, Peasant and Iceskimo. Beating the game with these characters, respectively, unlocks the Saracen, Bear, Fencer, Ninja, Stove Face, Killer Beekeeper, Snakey, Civilian and Brute for use.

  Complete the first level of "Alien Hominid HD" to unlock the "Alien in Training" achievement. Getting this achievement unlocks the Alien in "Castle Crashers."
DLC Characters

  Open the "Game Marketplace" from the main menu of the Xbox 360.

  Choose "Castle Crashers" from the game list.

  Choose "King Pack DLC" from the downloads list.

  Choose "Download Now" to purchase this DLC and begin to download it. The King and Open Faced Gray Knight characters are unlocked after you finish downloading the DLC.

  Purchase and download the "Necromantic Pack DLC" to unlock the Necromancer and Cult Minion characters.
